NAACOS Applauds New CMS Innovation Center Model Advancing Tech-Enabled Care
Statement from Emily Brower, president and chief executive officer, the National Association of ACOs
WASHINGTON (December 1, 2025) – The National Association of ACOs applauds the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Center’s new Advancing Chronic Care with Effective, Scalable Solutions (ACCESS) model.
This model acknowledges the important investments providers make for technology-enabled care by testing if outcomes are improved when payment is directly tied to this care.
This model will serve as a strong complement to accountable care models. Providers engaged in value-based payment arrangements use innovative approaches to manage chronic conditions by leveraging technology, including developing strategic partnerships with technology partners. As a result, many accountable care organizations have seen strong benefits to patient outcomes, as well as reduced administrative burden.
We look forward to working with CMS to rapidly scale the innovations gleaned from this model.
