NAACOS Names New Senior Vice President of Government Affairs
Aisha Pittman will lead the group’s policy and advocacy work

WASHINGTON – The National Association of ACOs (NAACOS), the leading national organization representing and supporting participants in accountable care models, is announcing Aisha Pittman will serve as its next senior vice president of Government Affairs. In her role, Pittman will lead NAACOS’ policy analysis and advocacy work, helping promote legislative and regulatory policies that will advance ACOs. She has 19 years of experience in healthcare payment, alternative payment models, healthcare quality measurement, and health information technology. She starts at NAACOS on July 11.

Pittman was previously vice president of policy with Premier, Inc., a group purchasing organization of more than 4,400 hospitals and 225,000 other provider organizations, since September 2019. During her eight years with Premier, she was responsible for working with policymakers, providers, and other healthcare stakeholders to reduce costs and improve the quality of healthcare.

“NAACOS leadership and our board of directors interviewed a number of candidates, and Aisha was hands down the best candidate we could have hoped for. We are honored and excited that she is joining the NAACOS team,” NAACOS President and CEO Clif Gaus, Sc.D., said. “One of the main criteria we used in assessing candidates was their style, character, and knowledge of our space in value-based care. Aisha has proven to be a thought leader in the field and respected voice on accountable care policy.”

Prior to Premier, Pittman held senior management roles with the National Quality Forum, the Maryland Health Care Commission and CenterLight Healthcare, in addition to experience at the National Committee for Quality Assurance. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Master’s in Public Health from The George Washington University. Pittman received GWU’s School of Public Health and Health Services Excellence in Health Policy Award.

Since its founding in 2012, NAACOS has supported organizations in accountable care models, including the Medicare Shared Savings Program, Pioneer ACO Model, Next Generation ACO Model, and more recently the Global and Professional Direct Contracting and ACO REACH Model. NAACOS represents ACOs and direct contracting entities who collectively represent more than 13 million beneficiary lives under Medicare and commercial contracts. NAACOS and its members are deeply committed to the transition to value-based care. We are an ACO member-led and member-owned non-profit organization that works on behalf of ACOs and DCEs across the nation to improve the quality of Medicare delivery, population health and outcomes, and healthcare efficiency.

ACOs have saved Medicare $13.3 billion in gross savings and $4.7 billion in net savings since 2012. Importantly, data show these ACOs continued to provide high-quality care and yield satisfied patients. Today, ACOs care for nearly 20 percent of all Medicare patients and nearly a third of traditional Medicare patients.
