NAACOS Responds to Final 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule

Statement from Emily Brower, president and chief executive officer, the National Association of ACOs

WASHINGTON (October 31, 2025) – The National Association of ACOs (NAACOS) applauds the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for finalizing payment policy that will curb wasteful and abusive billing practices for skin substitutes. Accountable care organizations (ACOs) have been working diligently to fight against these bad actors, but are held financially accountable for this unnecessary spending. Our members look to partner with CMS to ensure that ACOs are not impacted by this egregious spending.

We also appreciate that CMS has finalized policies that will improve the Medicare Shared Savings Program. We look forward to working with CMS to strengthen the program by addressing issues that threaten the long-term sustainability of accountable care and driving innovation in the model.
