When will the Spring 2020 Virtual Conference be held?
Over the coming weeks as the impact of the coronavirus will dramatically increase, we understand that many of our members and partners will need to focus on patient care at the time when our virtual conference is currently scheduled. Our foremost priority is the public’s health and safety, and we want to support your efforts to care for those affected by this epidemic. NAACOS will therefore delay our virtual conference to a later date. All those who are registered for the live webcast will receive additional information once new dates have been determined.
Why will the Spring 2020 Conference be virtual?
To safeguard the health of participants and the general public, the NAACOS Board of Directors has decided to hold the NAACOS Spring Conference as a virtual event.
The program for the spring conference has important information essential for critical decisions that ACOs will make over the next few months. The virtual conference will include new content that addresses some of the current challenges presented by the coronavirus, as well as timely updates and perspectives from CMS officials. Only a few features of the in-person conference, such as peer-to-peer exchanges and the book signing, will not be presented in the virtual format.
In addition to the new content being scheduled, everyone will have access to the recordings of the plenaries and all 15 breakout sessions so you can view the full conference at your convenience.
What is the format of the virtual conference?
Attendees will have one log-in for all of the sessions and will be able to toggle back and forth between different sessions as they are happening. The information for logging-in will be sent once the new dates have been set.
What about the pre-conference workshops?
The workshops will not take place on April 1. NAACOS is working with the organizer of each workshop to determine the appropriate format and whether to adapt the content to a virtual event. Those who registered for workshops will be contacted when more details are available.
What about the registration fee?
Everyone registered for the conference will be converted to the live webcast and will be offered a $400 credit to the fall conference. We regret that we will not be able to issue any refunds for registration. More information on how to use the fall credit will be announced at a later date.
What about my hotel and travel arrangements?
Registrants should check their hotel and airline cancellation policies and plan to cancel or change their flights, hotel reservations, and all other travel accommodations as appropriate. Policies vary from airline to airline and hotel to hotel, so please contact them as soon as possible.
Will I still be able to earn CEUs?
Absolutely – our live webcast allows as many CEUs as our in-person conference. By virtue of participating in the live webcast, you will still earn the same amount of credits as you would have by attending the meeting in person. You will receive additional instructions on CEUs.
What about conference sponsors and exhibitors?
NAACOS has developed a set of sponsorship and exhibitor benefits that maximize the value of the virtual format. Sponsors and exhibitors will be contacted directly with this information.
Will NAACOS hold the Fall 2020 Conference?
At this point, we are following the CDC and other organizations closely and believe that the threat of the conoravirus will have passed and that we will be able to hold the Fall 2020 Conference in person in Washington, D.C. We will watch this very closely and keep our members and partners informed of any decisions.
